Job description

Are you ready to shape the future of renewable energy?

We are a successful global group operating in Australia, the UK, and the US, specializing in trading and supplying renewable power to business consumers. Our “Global Trading Hub Strategy” leverages the UK’s strong trading capabilities to expand into new markets.

You will be responsible for leading our group tax function.

How will I spend my time in this role?

  • Develop and implement the group’s tax strategy in alignment with business objectives;
  • Ensure compliance with all UK and international tax laws and regulations;
  • Oversee the management of direct and indirect taxes, including corporation tax, VAT, and employment taxes;
  • Provide tax support and due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions;
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance;
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including HMRC, external advisors, our parent company Marubeni and internal business units.

What skills/experience do I need to be successful?

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective tax strategies;
  • Experience of working in a senior tax leadership position in which you are proactive in developing and facilitating the career paths and professional development of those within your team and working with individuals from different academic and professional backgrounds;
  • Experience in a global energy trading firm or utility sector is highly desirable.
