Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated SAP ABAP/CPI Consultant to join our AMS team. The consultant will be responsible for providing ongoing support, development, and optimization of SAP S/4HANA solutions, utilizing ABAP, Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). This role requires a deep understanding of SAP development tools, integration technologies, including RAP, and excellent problem-solving and client-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day support for SAP S/4HANA development and integration activities using ABAP, CPI, RAP, and BTP.
- Develop custom enhancements, reports, interfaces, conversions, and forms (RICEF) using ABAP and modern SAP development tools.
- Implement and manage integrations between SAP and other systems using SAP CPI.
- Utilize SAP BTP services to extend and enhance SAP S/4HANA functionalities.
- Develop and implement applications using the SAP Restful ABAP Programming (RAP) model.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system issues, resolving incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend long-term solutions.
- Implement system enhancements, configuration changes, and updates based on client requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business processes and identify opportunities for system improvements.
- Conduct regular system health checks and performance monitoring to ensure optimal system performance.
- Manage change requests, from gathering requirements to testing and deployment.
- Provide training and support to end-users and technical teams to ensure effective use of SAP solutions.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and support activities.
- Stay current with SAP S/4HANA updates, SAP BTP services, and best practices, and recommend relevant changes to clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in SAP ABAP development and integration.
- Previous experience with SAP S/4HANA, CPI, RAP, and SAP BTP in an AMS role.
- Very strong knowledge ABAP object-oriented language.
- Strong understanding of SAP development tools, including ABAP, CDS Views, OData Services, Fiori/UI5, and RAP.
- Experience with integration technologies and protocols such as SOAP, REST, IDoc, and RFC.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- SAP certification in ABAP, CPI, and/or BTP (preferred).
- Experience with incident management, change management, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Eclipse ADT (ABAP Development Tools), Web IDE.
- Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology.
- Familiarity with SAP Best Practices for S/4HANA and BTP.
- Proficiency in ITIL processes and principles.
