We believe in building a sense of belonging through our games, their communities, and how we operate and treat each other. Through our game communities, we will create powerful connections and lasting memories. We will foster a culture of diversity, equity and belonging where together our diverse skills, experiences and backgrounds impact the games we make.

We are an early but mighty organization with a leadership team of game industry veterans. There are many opportunities for you to have a big impact on the products we'll be making as well as the overall direction of the company. If you're passionate about tackling difficult problems with direct and thoughtful communication and team first mentality, we may be the right place for you.

About the role

As a Trust & Safety Specialist at Fortis Games, your mission is to foster a safer, more inclusive environment for our global gaming community. You’ll protect players, communities, and our brand by addressing issues like cyberbullying, fraud, and harassment, while ensuring global compliance. Working with cross-functional teams, you’ll proactively and reactively manage risk, enforce policies, and improve trust and safety processes. You’ll also play a key role in our community-building journey, driving initiatives that enhance the player experience and align with our business objectives.

What you’ll achieve

  • Contribute to a safer gaming environment by implementing and maintaining moderation, risk management, and compliance policies.
  • Execute tactical response plans to detect, prevent, and resolve issues, such as cyberbullying, fraud, and harassment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure player safety, leveraging data to inform policy updates and strategic changes.
  • Actively participate in harm prevention efforts by educating and empowering players on community standards and expectations.
  • Support crisis management procedures by quickly addressing critical incidents and contributing to post-incident analysis to refine response strategies.
  • Provide insights to game teams, enhancing understanding of player behavior and informing game design and community strategies.
  • Analyze and interpret data to provide detailed trust and safety insight and inform our decision making and approach

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Previous experience in a Trust & Safety role within gaming or digital platforms, with a solid understanding of current issues related to player safety, data protection, and community moderation.
  • Strong ability to assess potential risks, develop strategic responses, and apply a data-driven approach to track trends and measure the impact of Trust & Safety initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including game development, data, and community teams, to promote a culture of safety and inclusivity.
  • Ability to respond to a constantly evolving environment, applying critical thinking to handle a range of issues, from everyday moderation to crisis situations.
  • Comfortable working with AI tools for moderation, incident response systems, and CRM platforms; experience with technologies related to content moderation, player behavior tracking, and risk assessment.
  • A passion for creating inclusive spaces and an understanding of the importance of diversity and respect in online communities.
  • Support the communication and information exchange with our QA teams and Trust and Safety leadership, representing players' interests and delivering valuable insights and feedback.
  • Self-starter mindset and ability to take responsibility and thrive in an autonomous working environment; providing guidance and training to internal teams on trust and safety best practise.
