Senior Product Designer - 1 year contract

A Few Notes:

• 1 year contract, covering a Maternity Leave for a large Bank

• Hybrid - 3 days a week in the office (Downtown TO/Financial District)

• Must be able to legally work in Ontario, Canada (visa or sponsorship won't be provided)

• This role reports to the Director of Design

• We value design and making complex things simpler to understand via elegant UI/UX

• Have a structured design process, dual track scrum, delivery and discovery sprints, plus design reviews

• Collaborative team! Lots of new interesting complex design work available

• End to end design, from conception, low fidelity all the way up to high fidelity

• Use modern design tools like Figma

About You:

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead design on a few different fintech related product streams.

Example Responsibilities:

• End-to-end product design: Lead the team in solving user problems from ideation to execution. (ex. Prototype UX concepts, and validate choices using data)

• Acts as the UI/UX expert/advisor on your product stream (including standards, best practices and accessibility)

• Stakeholder Management: Multiple teams are involved. We need someone with Strong communication skills and can build trust quickly

• Inspire the team by bringing new ideas to the table, leading design sprints and advocating for our users

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of progressive responsibility in product design or user experience design roles with heavy experience in Web (SaaS) apps (experience working in Wealth Management is a plus)

• Minimum 2+ years designing within Fintech at the Enterprise level.

• BA/BS degree in human-centered interaction, UX/UI design, or related field of study; OR equivalent professional work experience.

• Ability to balance great design solutions with an iterative agile approach (v1, v2, or v3 )

• Experience designing and prototyping complex workflows with Figma or similar products

• Well versed in facilitation techniques that enable groups to build clarity and alignment

• You’re an expert in the fundamentals: visual design, interaction design, and information architecture.

• A strong portfolio showing your process of working through full end-to-end experiences, design thinking, and using research to drive decisions.

• Nice to have: Some coding skills - HTML, CSS, Interaction level JavaScript (but no coding is required for this role)
