Job description

The Senior Director, Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO) is responsible for leading Included Health’s clinical compliance operations and analysis. This entails developing and managing internal controls, process, procedures and audit compliance, managing and overseeing the Company’s compliance and privacy plans. The CCO must maintain excellent working relationships with all business teams including medical, clinical, operations, technology product development, marketing, finance, and other corporate teams. You will play a crucial role within the leadership team. The CCO is a strategic advisor to the business who can think creatively and advise the Company on achieving its goals while maintaining legal and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Advises Included Health Leadership on issues concerning compliance, including developing and implementing controls designed to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Keeps abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the Company, as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
  • Communicates and works collaboratively with applicable stakeholders on compliance and privacy issues, resolutions and identified trends.
  • Collaborates with other functions to oversee the coordination of internal and external third-party and governmental compliance/privacy investigations or reviews.
  • Oversees and manages monitoring systems and processes to ensure effective compliance tracking.
  • Coordinates with the Legal Department on legal compliance matters and government investigations, as appropriate.
  • Drives distribution, implementation and education regarding compliance policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct (e.g. annual conflict of interest disclosure process, monthly healthcare exclusions screenings, Business Associate Agreement updates, etc.).
  • Identifies risk areas and assists in developing auditing, monitoring and oversight processes related to the identified risks.
  • Independently investigates or supervises the investigation of compliance concerns raised through Included Health’s Compliance Hotline or other reporting mechanisms.
  • Oversees the implementation of the compliance education and training programs.
  • Leads the development and implementation of annual compliance work plan.
  • Participates in meetings and on committees; represents the Company in community outreach efforts.
  • Partners with key functional leaders such as Product and Engineering teams on operational considerations for new products and service offerings.
  • Responsible for compliance updates for Board of Directors review.
  • Directs vendor compliance assessment process.

  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a regulatory compliance role.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws relating to healthcare.
  • Proactive collaborator who establishes and maintains strong relationships within the legal department and across the organization; true business partner to leadership, operational and support teams.
  • Knowledge of regulatory bodies including but not limited to CMS, OCR, OIG, OSHA and state regulators.
  • Track record of building and leading effective teams; forms strong-identity teams that apply diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals, and holds team members accountable for results.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced and quickly changing environment; agile, able to prioritize, multitask, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Solutions-focused problem solver who can manage ambiguity; able to operate effectively even when things are not certain or the path forward is not clear.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills; able to interface with senior management and staff.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization while demonstrating good judgment, flexibility, patience and discretion when dealing with confidential and sensitive matters.

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or J.D.
  • Some knowledge of medical coding regulations is a plus.

  • Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
  • Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.
  • Ability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs. of force (e.g., lifting a computer / laptop) may be required.
  • Ability to interact with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.
  • Some overnight business travel will be required.
  • The United States new hire base salary target ranges for this full-time position are:

    Zone A: $188,270 - $265,930 + equity + benefits
    Zone B: $216,511 - $305,820 + equity + benefits 
    Zone C: $235,338 - $332,410 + equity + benefits
    Zone D: $244,751 - $345,710 + equity + benefits

    This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for candidates based on their respective Zone. Below is additional information on Included Health's commitment to maintaining transparent and equitable compensation practices across our distinct geographic zones.

    Starting base salary for the successful candidate will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include, but not limited to, education; training; skill set; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; business needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and alignment with geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and competitive compensation based on their roles and locations.     In addition to earning a base salary, this role is eligible for a performance-based bonus. Details of the Annual Bonus Plan, including performance metrics, target incentives, and potential earnings, will be discussed during the interview process.
