About your role

As a QA Automation Engineer at Juniper Square, you will collaborate with the product engineering teams to help define and drive our automation testing efforts.  You must be detail oriented, passionate about product quality, and a strong advocate for the end user experience. 

What you’ll do
  • Review functional specifications, technical design documents, test plans and test cases, and provide meaningful feedback

  • Work closely with QA team to identify test cases that can be automated for new feature releases

  • Maintain and extend automation framework (Cypress/Playwright) to ensure our infrastructure is reliable, resilient and extensible

  • Contribute to the automation team on best practices, processes and problem solving

  • Develop automated test result reports and highlight any potential quality risks

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and track bugs to resolution

  • Primarily work in an automated capacity but also partner with engineering team leads and provide recommendations on how to decrease efforts in manual testing and be an advocate for automation

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years of experience testing web and mobile applications

  • 3+ years of experience building and maintaining automation suites for web and mobile applications

  • Prior experience creating automated tests with Typescript

  • Experience with Detox, Appium or similar mobile testing frameworks

  • API Automation testing experience

  • Playwright and Cypress testing framework is a plus

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD and SDLC concepts: code review best practices, code coverage analysis, continuous test and delivery

  • Knowledge of Testing Pyramid and best practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively multitask

  • Experience testing applications built with ReactJS and GraphQL is a plus

  • Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL is a plus

  • You must be flexible and adaptable—you will be juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced startup environment.

Compensation 

Compensation for this position includes a base salary, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 USD and the Canadian range for this role is $140,000 - $175,000 CAD. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
