Job description

Do you want to empower organizations to fairly and equitably hire, promote, retain and compensate their employees? Syndio is a Series-C technology company committed to fairness in the workplace. Fueled by investments of $83M from Bessemer Ventures, Voyager Capital and social change organization Emerson Collective, Syndio is investing in growing our team and products.

This is a critical moment when organizations are looking for ways to take tangible action to fight gender and racial bias, and we believe creating diverse and inclusive workplaces for all starts with workplace equity.

About the role

Syndio is revolutionizing fair, transparent, and consistent pay, and we need you to ensure our AI is the most powerful tool in the fight for fairness. In this critical role, you'll be the guardian of AI integrity, refining our systems to ensure they deliver accurate, actionable insights. You'll also be the architect of winning deals, managing RFPs and legal contract reviews to drive revenue and protect our interests. This is a high-impact role where you'll shape the future of Syndio. If you're ready to accelerate our path to success, we want to hear from you.
This role is perfect for someone with a passion for accuracy and precision, clear communication, data regulations, technical writing, and problem-solving. Experience reading and negotiating contracts is a must, and a love of innovation is advised. While prior AI experience is not required, a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced technological environment is essential.

Why this job is exciting
  • Responsible AI program management  (10-15 hours a week):
    • Design and implement communications (in partnership with Data Science and Product leadership) for customers and prospects about our AI capabilities, risk management, and data rights, including change notifications and contracts, to streamline deployment of new AI and data science features
    • Review logs and identify instances where AI systems provide inaccurate or incomplete information, or otherwise create risk
    • Evaluate risks and consistency with our policies, and refine as needed to be consistent with contracts and risks
    • Stay up to date with AI regulations, developments, and the field broadly
    • Research and source accurate information from reliable sources
    • Update and expand the knowledge base to ensure AI systems have access to the most up-to-date and accurate data
    • Collaborate with technical teams to understand AI system functionality and data requirements
  • RFP Management (5 hours per week):
    • Oversee the RFP process, ensuring all proposals are timely, accurate, and persuasive across product, legal, and compliance domains
    • Collaborate with sales, technical, and marketing teams to gather and synthesize RFP content
    • Maintain and update RFP templates and knowledge base
    • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all proposals
  • Legal Contract Review (5-15 hours per week):
    • Review and engage in contract review processes related to privacy (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), compliance (SOC2, ISO 27001, DPF), Artificial Intelligence (AI), engineering and data practices, SLA’s, DPAs, and Support Agreements.
    • Participate in discussions with legal representatives from prospects and customers, representing Syndio’s position and clarifying that position when necessary as a means to obtain favorable terms.
    • Identify and engage in activities where outside council is necessary related to privacy, regulatory, and other business matters.
    • Run our deal desk - ensure consistency across deal terms in partnership with the sales team

    • Proven ability to research and synthesize complex information
    • Experience managing projects and meeting deadlines
    • Comfortable engaging with and interacting with prospects, customers, and legal/compliance representatives
    • Self-starter, able to work independently to identify, create awareness to, engage, and complete assignments that fall within the domain of responsibilities
