Job description

Merlyn Mind is a "Remote First" VC-backed AI EdTech startup that brings the latest advances in AI to Education to help improve the lives of teachers and ultimately the learning outcomes of their students. Our leadership team includes talents from IBM, Amazon, Facebook, Roku, Broadcom, HP, Allen Institute for AI, and more. We have come together to build on a unified product experience for an extremely urgent mission – building a digital assistant for teachers, to untether teachers from the desk and help them with managing classroom technologies.

Merlyn Mind is looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager. The Product Manager participates in the definition of the strategy and roadmap for their business area, as well as driving and aligning all teams for execution.

You will lead the effort to bring Merlyn into classrooms worldwide. This includes creating engaging features that elevate the teaching experience for educators and encourage active student participation. Additionally, you'll develop a solution to embed Merlyn into partner hardware devices, collaborating with our Merlyn HW team to shape the hardware roadmap. You'll also build and integrate an AI chat solution designed specifically for classroom use by teachers.

What you'll do
  • Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for the assigned business area to scale Merlyn AI Assistant into every classroom.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, hardware, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product execution.
  • Gather and prioritize product requirements from users, stakeholders, and market research.
  • Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve the user experience and business outcomes.
  • Work closely with the UX and UXR teams to understand user behaviors, pain points, and opportunities for product improvements.
  • Lead the development and delivery of new product features and enhancements, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
  • Communicate product vision, updates, and priorities to key stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the product team.

  • Qualifications
  • 8+ years as a Product Manager.
  • Startup experience.
  • Strong product sense and intuition.  User centric driven.
  • Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, schedule tradeoffs, etc.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • You've successfully achieved product-market fit with innovative new products, driving growth and user adoption.

  • Preferred qualifications
  • Educational Technology experience as a Product Manager, building applications that drive teacher and student engagement, with a strong understanding of the overall ed-tech landscape.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or 3+ years equivalent experience in a technical field.
  • 3+ years working on software products for new devices.
  • Understanding of product development for hardware products and software associated with a hardware device.
  • Familiarity with Voice Recognition technology is a plus.
