Your day at NTT DATA

The Senior Manager, GL and Site Level Accounting reports directly to the NTT Global Data Centers, Americas Controller and plays a key role in managing the financial staff and operations of the growing and dynamic companies within the Americas region. General responsibilities of the role include overseeing all operational accounting functions, maintaining consistency in following US GAAP and IFRS principles, managing the monthly and quarterly close cycles with the GL and site level accounting teams, and driving process improvements within the accounting systems and manual accounting tasks. This role directly manages the department accountants as part of the role’s organizational structure. This role is responsible for directing and leading the team to ensure work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. As a team, we manage tight deadlines, competing priorities and a full range of accounting activities such as: general ledger, financial reporting, year-end and internal audit support, Sarbanes Oxley documentation and compliance, fixed assets and support of budget and forecast activities. This role requires an experienced accounting and management background with the demonstrated ability to build cross functional teams and effectively lead accounting activities to support the profitable growth and investments within a dynamic and fast paced environment.

What you'll be doing

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ownership of all aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial close process including the timely planning of each accounting function/module to meet corporate deadlines, daily team management of tasks, reconciliation and financial reporting, and full financial analyses of multiple-entity operations and comparison both to prior period and forecast expectations

  • Play a key “right hand to the Controller” position regarding the core functions of the ledger and site-level financial operations both for repeatable and expected transactions and for urgent and significant issue resolution within the month and tight monthly close process

  • Oversees the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, problem-solving and impeccable audit documentation while applying GAAP and IFRS accounting to effectively report accurate and timely financial results for multiple entities in the America’s region

  • Leads and coordinates the department to provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested by management, providing insights into financial accounting trends, performance metrics, and cash flow opportunities

  • Oversees system and manual journal entries process, including proper company code, GL account, department, location, and project cost coding with appropriate supporting documentation being completed by the team

  • Partners with other accounting functional leaders (AR, AP, Treasury, Fixed Assets) to ensure continuity of financial transactions to our business owners as well as complete organization of the tasks within the month and close process

  • Manages complete and accurate monthly consolidation and elimination entries alongside relevant reporting for multiple locations and multiple business units (both fully owned and partially owned)

  • Demonstrates and applies accounting expertise and best-in-class thought leadership to ensure all significant transactions are properly documented, recorded and reconciled both for the entire region and at the very detailed site-level operational level

  • Coordinates with other global NTT GDC accounting managers to ensure similar application of accounting principles and use of accounting systems in the most efficient global manner

  • Oversees and implements the continued improvement efforts for all current financial applications to drive scalability and reliability in our finance and accounting operations throughout the department; provides insight and recommendations for future-state systems, including ERP and adjacent implementations

  • Establishes and maintains processes and controls to achieve maximum efficiencies and adherence of accounting policies and procedures which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value

  • Creates and presents regular executive updates to local and global accounting management on department metrics and performance against financial and operational targets

  • Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to internal management and parent company.

  • Oversees all required statutory filings with all governmental agencies.

  • Provides guidance to Controller and company senior management on accounting policies and technical accounting interpretations

  • Oversees the monthly Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss account analysis and review signoffs by location

  • Establishes the training and mentoring of department staff

  • Assist in the completion of special projects

  • Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Demonstrated extensive and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices both in US GAAP and IFRS

  • Impeccable oral and written communication skills, including advanced team leadership skills

  • Multi-entity/location experience is required; international experience is desirable

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Proven account reconciliation, research and problem-solving skills required

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Large accounting system experience preferred (Oracle or SAP S/4)

  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and productively in a multi-task deadline-oriented environment independently with minimal supervision

  • Initiative and proven ability to own projects from start to finish and can approach tasks strategically

  • Ability to manage multiple direct reports and priorities as a self-motivated, success-driven leader

  • Proven knowledge and experience in effectively managing a remote team of accountants

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting

  • CPA is highly preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of Accounting/Finance experience, which includes a minimum of 4 years in a team leadership or management role

  • Technology or data center operations experience preferred

  • Public Accounting experience preferred

  • Equity Method accounting experience is beneficial

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone.

  • Close visual work on a computer terminal.

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments

WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is expected to be remote for the foreseeable future with an occasional need to be onsite in a shared work environment.

  • Requires working nights and weekends as necessary to meet corporate deadlines of month-end reporting and/or budgets, etc.

  • Travel may be required

  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.


NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $ 129,600- $ 189,300.


All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
