SATCOM Network Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity: 

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable the Army and DoD to achieve its mission, but how can an organization make sure its network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a network engineer who will apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise, full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems.

As a Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Network Engineer on our team, you’ll help the Army Design, plan, install, integrate, and maintain backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks. You’ll work with SMEs, customers, users, to develop network architecture for adjacent, higher and lower units, as well as for allied nations, other government agencies and commercial service interfaces. Also, you will be supporting the engineering design, development, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of the Tactical Network. You will plan the acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components.

From resolving interoperability issues across platforms to supporting hardware acquisition, you’ll put your hardware and software talents to good use. You Have: 

  • Experience with test-driven development and operational feedback
  • Experience with managing and utilizing version control systems
  • Experience with the configuration of Cisco routers and switches
  • Experience with the configuration of Palo Alto firewall
  • Experience with the configuration of virtualization hypervisors and virtual networking
  • Experience with the implementation of network configuration and firewall STIGs
  • Experience with the configuration of Cisco Call Manager Express (CME) or REDCOM Sigma
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
