WHAT YOU'LL DO

Our Research & Development team is proud of where we’ve been, but more interested in where we’re going. This team drives creativity, growing our portfolio of products. The Senior Regulatory Scientist is responsible for acting as the regulatory representative to support product development and regulatory compliance across Talking Rain Beverage Company’s product portfolio.  You will monitor the regulatory landscape, scientific and governmental environment for emerging legislation, strategic developments, trends and other issues that could potentially impact the business.

Location: Onsite at our Preston, WA office 5 days a week

Annual Bonus Potential: 7% - Eligibility is based on the company hitting annual financial targets.

Base Salary: $75,000 - $110,000 (depending on experience)

Note: New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

  • Evaluate the regulatory landscape and contribute to providing internal advice to cross functional teams throughout the product lifecycle to ensure product compliance.

  • Support New Product Development, Technology Advancement, and Product Renovation projects through regulatory compliance reviews, nutrition facts panel generation, ingredient statement generation, and claim substantiation research and documentation.

  • Responsible for the preparation of documentation to support US and global regulations. Collaborate with cross functional teams as needed.

  • Responsible for review of formulations and formulation changes to ensure applicable regulatory requirements have been identified to support US and international compliance requirements.

  • Review product labeling and promotional materials to ensure consistency with regulatory requirements.

  • Drive the enhancement of data integrity systems and processes related to technology and product development.

  • Lead and Coordinate nutrition analysis test designs, sample submissions, data analysis, and robust record keeping practices.

  • Support the design and implementation of workflows and process improvements to ensure the regulatory compliance of new products and the existing product portfolio.

  • Ensure food safety, quality, and SQF practices are followed at all times, advising your immediate manager of any food safety and/or quality issues.

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or equivalent a with minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience at a food and beverage company (CPG preferred).

  • Experience with ESHA and/or other nutrition analysis software or PLM systems.

  • Strong working knowledge of domestic and international food regulations, food science principles, food manufacturing processes and ingredient functionality.

  • Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.

Please note, eligibility for our full benefits package is based on an average of 30+ hours per week in regular (not temporary) positions.
