Job description

Stambaugh Ness (SN) is a multi-discipline, professional services firm serving clients nationally with a strategic focus on architecture and engineering, professional services, construction and real estate, and manufacturing industries. 

As an Audit Senior Associate in the Assurance department, you will play a critical role in the examination, analysis, and verification of financial records, ensuring the integrity of financial information for our clients. You will work in a collaborative team environment, conducting audits, and offering valuable insights to our clients. You will have clients across the nation majority in the Architecture and Engineering industry.

This is a remote position that can work from anywhere within the United States. 

What you’ll do at SN:
  • Focus on developing a solid understanding of fundamental public accounting assignments   
  • Complete assignments and communicating in timely and professional manner  
  • Always look for ways to help our clients and the firm improve processes and profitability and communicating suggestions to appropriate parties  
  • Assume responsibility for individual engagements, including deadlines and other decisions 
  • Work in teams providing clients excellent service 
  • Deepen your audit skillsets
  • Work with clients and teammates across the United States
  • Provide high-quality work on engagements
  • Seek out support and guidance from teammates, be approachable to any questions/inquiries, and ultimately help the team be successful  
What you may have done before:
  • Worked on an assurance team as an auditor at a public accounting firm
  • Worked with architecture and engineering, construction, or manufacturing clients
 What it takes to be an Audit Associate: 
  • Prior CPA firm experience 
  • 3+ years working experience in the accounting field
  • 2+ year of U.S. audit experience in public accounting
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with requisite hours to pursue CPA certification
  • Desire to pursue Certified Public Accounting License or Enrolled Agent License
  • Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principals (GAAP), assurance standards, and/or tax regulations as applicable 
  • Fundamental understanding of reviews and compilation engagements is preferred but not required  
  • Moderate knowledge of year end accounting and adjustments  
  • Ability to thoroughly document testing approach and conclusions in the workpapers in a variety of audit areas, including but not limited to, cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accrued liabilities  
  • Ability to prepare financial statements including footnote disclosures 
  • Excellent analytical skills 
  • Self-motivated and positive attitude

  • Stage 1 (Preliminary Screening Call) with a member of our recruitment team 
  • Stage 2 (Hiring Manager Interview) with the leader (Managing Director) of the Assurance Team 
  • Stage 3 (Behavioral Interview & Senior Manager & Director Interview) with a member of our HR team and 2 interviews with a Director and Senior Manager on the Assurance Team

Salary:

The salary range for this position is an estimate of $75,000 - $85,000. A final compensation offer within this range will be based on factors including an individual’s skill sets, experience, knowledge, licensure and certifications, and geography.
