Job description

Job Overview

We are in search of a highly skilled Manager of Investments to enhance our team! In this pivotal role, you will contribute significantly to our retail annuities and life business strategies. Your core responsibilities will encompass new business pricing, product development, investment performance oversight, and reinsurance/capital initiatives. You will also spearhead investment-related modeling and analytics, supporting various internal functions such as retail pricing, risk management, and reinsurance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee routine submissions related to retail pricing, including weekly new business investment assumptions and monthly retail portfolio analytics.
  • Collaborate with the Investment Central Vertical to define parameters for Retail Strategic Asset Allocation.
  • Execute periodic optimization exercises for retail new business by assessing asset and liability characteristics to enhance investment metrics.
  • Analyze the economics and credits of unique investment opportunities, providing recommendations to improve retail investment performance.
  • Conduct regular reviews of the retail portfolio and partner with analysts for thorough relative value analyses to optimize portfolio investments.
  • Manage asset and liability projections in conjunction with corporate actuarial and retail pricing teams, integrating insights into investment decisions.
  • Lead the design and execution of retail portfolio and ALM monitoring processes, endorsing investment strategies that meet retail and reinsurance goals.
  • Facilitate retail reinsurance transactions by overseeing the asset selection process and reviewing investment guidelines.
  • Direct the quarterly resegmentation process to ensure adequate asset backing for each line of business.
  • Offer analytical support for retail investments during multi-year projection and cashflow testing processes.

Required Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or Alteryx is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with asset modeling software such as Factset, Bloomberg, Aladdin, Intex, AXIS, or similar tools is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in asset management, portfolio analytics, or credit research.
  • A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, actuarial science, or a related field.
  • Progress toward CFA or a similar professional designation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with life insurance products (e.g., FIA, MYGA, IUL) is preferred.
