Job description

Position: VP Special Assets / Loan Workout Officer (Remote)

Overview

We invite applications for the role of VP Special Assets/Loan Workout Officer, a full-time remote position that offers the opportunity to significantly impact our banking clients. This position is ideal for individuals with strong expertise in SBA lending and commercial lending, eager to advance their careers in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer service to ensure a positive banking experience for our clients.
  • Collaborate with the SVP/SBA Audit & Special Assets Manager to manage problem loans, foreclosures, and litigation, focusing on minimizing losses.
  • Supervise the timely collection, negotiation, and resolution of overdue loan payments for the SBA Portfolio, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of marginal SBA Annual Reviews, including property evaluations, financial analyses, and risk assessments, while engaging with clients to address and mitigate issues.
  • Ensure prompt PIP disbursements on the SBA Portfolio, reviewing documentation for compliance.
  • Audit and address issues related to problematic loans according to established regulations and procedures.
  • Gather documentation for SBA 10-Tab submissions, reviewing legal notices related to the SBA Portfolio.
  • Engage with customers to resolve past-due taxes and force-placed insurance matters.
  • Maintain adherence to SBA and bank regulations regarding special asset processes and procedures.
  • Conduct skip tracing to obtain valid customer contact details as necessary.
  • Communicate timely correspondence and reports in line with applicable guidelines and regulations.
  • Provide detailed insights and reports on special asset efforts, making portfolio recommendations to management.
  • Collaborate effectively with escrow officers, borrowers, outside legal counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure proper documentation and resolution of issues.
  • Implement and comply with security measures to protect customer loans, collateral, bank assets, and staff.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of SBA lending and commercial lending.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and credit review.
  • Knowledge of federal and state lending compliance laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a minimum of five years of experience in banking or related roles.
  • Work experience should encompass special assets, financial analysis, or credit review.
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial, construction, and real estate loan products, along with federal and state lending compliance laws.
  • Familiarity with title policies and relevant loan regulations.
