Position Overview

We are in search of a proactive and visionary Vice President of Real Estate Development to spearhead the dynamic expansion of a pioneering healthcare model that seamlessly blends Emergency Room and Urgent Care services. This pivotal role will oversee crucial operations such as site selection, development, construction, and asset management. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership competencies and a demonstrable history of effectively managing extensive portfolios while cultivating high-performance teams in a fast-evolving environment. Collaboration with executive leadership, consultants, brokers, developers, contractors, and hospital partners will be essential to the successful launch of new facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the daily operations of real estate development for a significant pipeline consisting of over 60 new sites.
  • Navigate intricate approval processes and health system partner leadership teams.
  • Ensure adherence to ambitious budgets and timelines for design, development, and construction projects.
  • Identify promising markets and submarkets for expansion through comprehensive real estate data analysis and teamwork with leadership.
  • Supervise the successful launch of new ER/Urgent Care facilities, coordinating all aspects of equipment procurement and service.
  • Work in conjunction with various departments, including finance, legal, and operations, to facilitate seamless project execution.
  • Uphold team performance and accountability through regular monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Offer leadership, coaching, and mentorship to empower the development of leaders within the team.
  • Formulate and communicate a visionary strategy for elevating the success of responsible areas.
  • Analyze trends and data to generate ideas that enhance capacity and stimulate significant growth.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of deal memos, proformas, and other key presentations.
  • Strategically position the portfolio for sustainable profitability and increased market share.
  • Monitor site performance and implement continuous improvement strategies to optimize productivity and service.
  • Prepare comprehensive materials for Board of Directors meetings, Real Estate Committee meetings, and various analyses for investors and Board members.

Required Skills

  • A Master's degree in fields such as MBA, healthcare management, or real estate is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a strategic senior leadership role within a pertinent real estate sector, such as retail or multi-site healthcare.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong prioritization capabilities, and high emotional intelligence to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proven aptitude for mentoring, leading, and inspiring both direct reports and indirect resources.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships and achieve collective objectives across diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in recruiting, retaining, and developing a competent real estate team.
  • Capacity to manage an extensive pipeline and portfolio.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced, high-pressure growth environment.
  • Strong collaborative partner to the business and executive team.
