Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive quoting and binding of new business policies utilizing various carrier rating platforms.
  • Complete applications for new business in the surplus lines market.
  • Collaborate effectively with producers and carrier underwriters to evaluate risks and establish pricing and product eligibility.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with prompt responses to client inquiries via calls and emails.
  • Aid in customer retention through consistent communication and annual policy reviews.
  • Identify and process policy transactions proactively, clearly communicating impacts to customers.
  • Assist with policy billing duties, including invoicing and monitoring agency-billed payments.
  • Manage time efficiently to meet departmental service level requirements and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Cross-sell additional insurance solutions as appropriate.

Required Skills

  • A degree in a business-related discipline or a minimum of three years' experience within an independent agency environment focused on commercial lines insurance.
  • Experience with excess and surplus lines is essential.
  • Active and maintained state insurance licenses are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage data from diverse sources.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years' experience in an independent agency setting with a focus on commercial lines.
  • Familiarity with the intricacies of Massachusetts commercial lines insurance.
  • Current active P&C Insurance license in Massachusetts is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
