Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive underwriting support to our customer service team, addressing underwriting inquiries and offering insights for agent training and instructional materials.
• Collaborate effectively with our carrier partners to evaluate the performance of our underwriting engine and associated third-party data sources.
• Spearhead initiatives aimed at the continuous enhancement of our underwriting model, which includes modifying rules, evaluating new data sources, and assessing their real-world efficacy and outcomes.
• Potential future responsibilities may include desk underwriting for digital applications that require additional scrutiny.
  
  

Required Skills

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Life Insurance Underwriter.
• Preferred experience with automated underwriting systems.
• Familiarity with standard underwriting data sources, such as Milliman Irex, LexisNexis Risk Score, MVR, LabPiQ, Sherlock, MIB, among others.
• Strong understanding of the life insurance sector, including its business processes and products.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, proactively seeking solutions with limited supervision.
• Exceptional analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience in product development and field underwriting support is highly desirable.
• A genuine enthusiasm for underwriting innovation, with a focus on improving underwriting manuals, updating rules, and establishing new industry standards.
