Job Title: Field Underwriter - Remote | Work From Home

Job Overview

We invite applications for the role of Field Underwriter based in Nashville, TN. In this full-time, permanent position, you will be instrumental in driving profitable growth alongside our agency partners. Leveraging your exceptional underwriting and marketing expertise, you will cultivate strong relationships with agents, empowering them to achieve their objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our agency network to pre-qualify accounts and effectively utilize in-house rates, facilitating small business processing through our systems while emphasizing the value of our services.
  • Conduct consistent underwriting decisions in line with company pricing philosophies, ensuring a seamless experience for agents.
  • Monitor agency performance, offering strategic guidance on growth, profitability, and adherence to our compliance initiatives.
  • Build and nurture professional relationships with agents, as well as regional underwriting, claims teams, and corporate departments. Conduct training sessions for agency personnel to enhance their understanding of our systems.
  • Foster open lines of communication between agents and the company, promoting the effective use of all internal systems.
  • Execute inspections as outlined in the Loss Control Guide, recommending necessary risk improvements diligently.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, products, and changes impacting the company.
  • Audit agents’ One & Done book of business and provide constructive feedback aimed at enhancing quality and effectiveness.
  • Regularly meet with key representatives to explore agency growth and profit opportunities.
  • This role will involve travel within your designated territory, constituting approximately 40-50% of your working time.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and business-related software.
  • A proven results-oriented mindset focused on achieving business goals.

Qualifications

  • A college degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting, marketing, or field underwriting is required.
  • Preferred experience includes 3 years in agency management and 2 years in claims or loss control inspection.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license in good standing, with the ability to drive being essential.

  • Competitive salary ranging from \(90K - \)103K, with 50% - 64% bonus potential for candidates with 3 - 5 years of experience.
  • Salary of \(110K - \)130K, with 50% - 64% bonus potential for candidates with over 5 years of experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including a company vehicle and a referral fee of $1,000 for successful referrals.
