In this fully remote role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring students have equitable access to their education by fostering effective communication within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver precise and articulate sign language interpretation during classroom activities, including lectures, discussions, and collaborative projects.
• Facilitate seamless communication among students, educators, and support staff to enhance the learning experience.
• Tailor interpretation methods to accommodate the diverse needs of each student.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff and educational teams to promote student engagement and academic success.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professionalism in all interactions.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other relevant sign languages.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster an inclusive and collaborative atmosphere.
• Ability to work autonomously while managing time effectively in a remote work setting.
  
  

Qualifications

• Prior experience interpreting in educational contexts, particularly in K-12 environments.
• A bachelor's or associate degree in Sign Language Interpretation, Education, or a related field (preferred).
• Active EIPA or RID certification.
• Up-to-date certification to interpret in Ohio is required.
