Job Overview

Join our passionate team as a School Programs Coordinator - Remote (WFH) and play a pivotal role in connecting diverse audiences with innovative educational experiences. We are committed to promoting the rich narratives and cultural contributions of the African American experience through dynamic arts education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of school programs to ensure alignment with our mission.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries, scheduling, and financial transactions related to school programming.
  • Coordinate a variety of activities including arts exposure workshops, long-term residencies, professional learning for educators, performances, tours, and special projects.
  • Maintain effective communication systems to manage school group visits efficiently.
  • Collect and organize demographic, statistical, and programmatic data for quarterly reporting.
  • Support Teaching Artists both at schools and within our venue to maximize program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the School Programs Manager and Associate Director in executing programming initiatives.
  • Disseminate marketing and outreach materials, including updates across various platforms.

Required Skills

  • Exemplary written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate complex projects within a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in managing administrative tasks with a proactive approach.
  • Experience working with NYC schools and the NYC Department of Education.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree accompanied by 2-4 years of experience in arts education and administration or a related organizational context.
  • Understanding of financial transactions and purchase orders within school districts.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and event management databases is advantageous.
