Job Overview

We invite you to join a prominent mid-sized national insurance defense litigation firm that prioritizes employee well-being and fosters a balanced work environment. This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in First Party Property Litigation, combining the benefits of a hybrid work schedule—three days in the office and two days remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess new case files assigned by the adjuster.
  • Prepare initial status reports outlining liability, damages, and overall exposure.
  • Draft pleadings and motions, issue written discovery, and respond to discovery queries.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
  • Argue motions and participate in court hearings, mediations, and trials.
  • Regularly compile comprehensive status updates for clients.

Required Skills

  • A minimum of 2 years of defense experience in First Party Property Litigation.
  • Strong analytical abilities for reviewing and analyzing case files.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills for effective pleadings and motions.
  • Experience with depositions and familiarity with court procedures.
  • Knowledge of various homeowner claims involving significant property damage.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant defense experience in Florida.
  • Experience with expert witness depositions is preferred.
