Job Overview

We are in search of an accomplished Project/Program Manager III to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. This role is tailored for individuals who possess robust project management expertise and are eager to contribute meaningfully to impactful projects within a collaborative environment. You will oversee small to moderate scope projects, working under the guidance of a state supervisor or manager, while also having the opportunity to support larger projects and assume project controller responsibilities as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement project management methodologies as defined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to facilitate successful project outcomes.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and timelines while providing consistent updates on project progress and deliverables.
  • Take ownership of project scope and configuration management, including change control logs, ensuring thorough testing and validation of new systems.
  • Coordinate with all project resources, including technical personnel, clients, and contractors, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Ensure adherence to established project management, development, testing, and documentation standards as set forth by the ISD division.
  • Oversee resource allocation and team capacity to effectively meet project objectives.
  • Foster project communication through regular meetings and collaboration with key stakeholders including the Configuration Management Specialist and Database Administrator.
  • Monitor and control all outsourced tasks to uphold quality and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in managing projects of small scope with limited risk and complexity.
  • Strong ability to operate independently with minimal supervision while upholding high professional standards.
  • Experience managing complex or high-risk projects that align with state government priorities.
  • Preferred expertise in statewide project portfolio management and IT investment management.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for effective stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in project management roles, particularly within government or public sector environments, is desirable.
  • A proven history of delivering projects on time and within budget.
