Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and process medication orders within the pharmacy operating system.
  • Conduct thorough medication history interviews and provide counsel on food-drug interactions.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures for effective job function execution.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Utilize diverse software applications to review patient profiles and manage medication orders, including:
    • Hand-written Physician Order Sheets
    • Electronic Prescriptions
    • Reorder Requests
    • Phone Order Physician Sheets
  • Ensure timely medication administration for prescriptions intended for automated/robotic dispensing.
  • Perform routine error checks and implement corrective measures when required.
  • Keep precise patient records with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Confirm the accuracy of patient and prescription information.
  • Redirect prescription inquiries to the pharmacist or supervisor as necessary.
  • Safeguard sensitive information by adhering to confidentiality protocols concerning patient medications and conditions.
  • Complete all tasks in compliance with HIPAA regulations, state and federal laws, and organizational policies.
Required Skills

  • Valid Pharmacy Technician Certification in the State of Indiana.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting prescriptions, including SIG codes and third-party forms.
  • Strong organizational abilities coupled with a service-oriented approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A positive attitude with the capability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.
  • Reliability demonstrated through a strong work ethic and consistent attendance.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in pharmacy data entry or related fields is preferred.
