Job Overview

Join our esteemed Consulting Department as an SBA 7(a) Loan Auditor, where you will play a pivotal role in a contract with the Small Business Administration (SBA), specifically within the Office of Credit Risk Management. In this remote position, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to conduct Lender Oversight Reviews, ensuring compliance with the SBA's 7(a) Guaranteed Loan Program. Candidates must successfully pass a background investigation and secure SBA security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

As an SBA 7(a) Loan Auditor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough loan file reviews in alignment with established due diligence protocols to assess compliance with SBA 7(a) regulations.
  • Leveraging proprietary software to compile and report findings from loan assessments.
  • Crafting internal reports that will assist the SBA in completing Risk Based Review documentation.
  • Executing additional administrative duties as assigned by the Senior Financial Analyst.

Required Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 4 years of recent experience with SBA 7(a) loan programs, including 7(a) Standard, 7(a) Small, and Express loans.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in commercial loan operations, adhering to standard due diligence procedures within regulatory agencies or financial institutions.
  • A comprehensive understanding of SBA's 7(a) Loan Program Requirements, including the application process and necessary documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a focus on identifying credit risks and evaluating financial information.
  • Excellent attention to detail coupled with outstanding written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is preferable; however, candidates with over 10 years of direct experience in SBA 7(a) loan programs may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Preferred experience of 2 years in collections or special asset management relating to SBA 7(a) loans.
