Job Description
Our client is seeking a
Senior Backend Engineer responsible for elevating the platform to the next level. You will lead the development of their banking and DAF products and technology strategy while building and mentoring a growing team of software engineers. Collaborating closely with the CEO and founding engineers, you will scale a product to meet existing and future contracts. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, hands-on, driven for delivery, and a supportive mentor.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop backend server applications and components that power various product offerings.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of APIs, backend systems, and applications, establishing team standards and best practices.
- Generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies.
- Enhance real-time and analytical monitoring and alerting capabilities to better understand user behavior and iterate on the product.
- Communicate effectively with founders, product managers, and fellow developers.
- Manage and execute project plans and delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment.
About You
- 3-6+ years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
- 2+ years as a backend application developer building performant and scalable systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field preferred, but relevant work experience is also valued.
- Highly proficient in Node.js, Golang, Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Postgres (RDBMS), REST APIs, and gRPC.
- Strong sense of responsibility with the ability to drive projects from inception to completion.
- Experience in fintech, payments, or the nonprofit sector is a plus.
- Familiarity with building secure and scalable applications on AWS is a plus.
