About The Role

The Director, People Operations will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing the employee experience through empathy and action, ensuring a seamless remote work environment while delivering operational excellence in People Operations. This role will create, implement, and manage people programs, policies, and processes, including onboarding, offboarding, systems, payroll, total rewards, benefits, leave administration, and compliance. You’ll partner closely with the Director of Talent to support engagement and performance programs, as well as organizational design and effectiveness initiatives across the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee processes related to global onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and compliance for both employees and contractors.
  • Manage the benefits program, including annual renewals, open enrollment, and employee support.
  • Collaborate with the Controller on payroll to ensure accurate processing of internal changes.
  • Manage leave of absence requests, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while maintaining communication with employees and stakeholders.
  • Administer and update People Operations policies and programs, ensuring operational efficiency.
  • Lead annual reporting processes (ACA, EEO-C, 5500s, and others) to maintain compliance.
  • Build trust and resolve employee questions and concerns related to payroll, benefits, compensation, leaves, and other processes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, including insurance carriers, benefits providers, and third-party administrators.
  • Consult with department heads on organizational design, restructuring, and workforce planning.
  • Build strong, trusted partnerships with leaders across the organization to innovate and improve people processes and programs.

About You

What You’ve Accomplished:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR/People Operations experience, including developing and implementing people programs in a high-growth environment across the U.S. and internationally.
  • Experience as an HR Generalist is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of global employment laws, regulations, benefits, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of process improvement, operational expertise, documentation, and systems integration.
  • Analytical, organized, and skilled in vendor management.
  • Experience building credibility and trust with a remote workforce.
  • Practical knowledge of local and federal policies related to leaves, ADA, wage & hour, and payroll.
  • Experience working with benefits brokers and negotiating benefits renewals.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $165,000 - $180,000 (based on experience). This role is also eligible for additional compensation through an equity grant and other benefits.
  • Location: This is a 100% remote role with less than 5% travel required. The team works across North and South America, with business hours aligned to local time zones.
