For a project in we are looking for a:

Developer API Catalog (f/m/d) with Mature Backstage / Web-Design ID25776-0

Duration :  01.11.2024 – 31.03.25

Volume : 40h on site/ 660h remote/ 40h Travel

Location : remote/ Munich

Introduction of a single platform for an API Catalog (Inventory) that serves as a centralized repository, offering API Governors and API Owner comprehensive access to a wide array of APIs, facilitating transparency, efficient discovery and security indication within the ecosystem.

After initial assessment of technology approached in Q1 2024, the project team implemented the API Catalog MVP until end of Q2 2024. The MVP scope aimed to build vertically (= Pull agent to gather API Metadata; Core layer to store data; View layer to visualize data and to serve as user frontend). After MVP, the current focus on scope additions and rollout/enablement activities towards year end and Q1 2025.

The long-term vision is to transform from a rather static API catalog into a full-fletched API portal.

Tasks :

• Backstage customizing/development and documentation based on technical user stories (https://backstage.io/) such as adjustments of detailed item views, display of custom fileds, improvement of usability via pagination, searches, filters

• Introduction of extended role & permission concept within product

• Improve development processes as part of a cross-functional team

• Quality assurance / Test automation in a self-organized way to ensure constant improvements

• Operate Backstage setup with frequent tooling upgrades

• Exchange with other Backstage developers out of other product teams

Voraussetzungen

Mature Backstage (https://backstage.io/) know-how is mandatory

Web-design know-how is mandatory

GitLab Pipelines-, Python- and API know-how is appreciated

Knowledge of collaboration tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

German Language (C2) is appreciated

Good analytic and communication capabilities

High level of self-reliant and self-initiated working

Agile mindset
