Position Description:

The ideal candidate must reside in the greater GTA area. A part of the role would be the completion of after hour clearances and also pick up or distribution of paperwork such as CITES certificates to the local CBSA office. A personal vehicle and valid drivers licence is required.

The customs analyst is responsible for verifying and processing customs documentation for immediate release. Must be able to work effectively while under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to work with other team members. The candidate must be quick and accurate in daily decisions.

Responsibilities:

·        Processing release of shipments for all modes of transport to CBSA as SWI

·        Understand perishable shipments and the importance of following up

·        Process, assemble and present paper package releases to Canada Border Services Agency when required;

·        Managing Outlook and answering customer inquiries

·        Draft and send emails to clients and carriers for missing information for Customs release. (PO’s)

·        Managing inbound and outbound calls by phone

·        Driving to carriers or CBSA locations for after hour requests

Requirements

·        3+ years of experience

·        Strong organization skills, able to prioritize work while keeping strict deadlines

·        Attention to detail, able to handle large volumes of work with accuracy

·        Strong problem-solving skills with memory retention for all clients SOP/instructions

·        Ability to read and understand Customs documentation.

·        Strong knowledge of the Customs tariff, regulations, and Customs act

·        Experience handling various OGD shipments, multiple types of permits

·        Self-motivated with proven ability to work without supervision.

·        Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel

·        Experience with Descartes ITMR4 would be an asset

·        CCS designation or enrolled would be ideal

·        Must be able to type with a minimum of 45 wpm

Schedule:
