Position Overview

Tether and its affiliated entities (e.g. Bitfinex) are searching for an organized self-starter to join our Regulatory and Licensing team. The successful candidate is someone with a high-level understanding of legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to the cryptocurrency industry, and who is excited by the opportunity to apply their existing regulatory experience in an exciting and dynamic business environment.


To succeed in this role, the incumbent will continuously strive to self-develop and enhance their skill sets including understanding the Company’s products and services, blockchain technology, virtual currencies, and regulatory requirements around the globe. You will have a focus around being able to translate regulatory requirements in different jurisdictions into clear and manageable deliverables in the context of seeking regulatory authorisation and obtaining licensure from regulatory bodies. You will be responsible for managing relationships and communications between various stakeholders both internal and external to the business, across different countries. You will have the opportunity to work alongside project managers and members of the wider team to execute on licensing initiatives in different parts of the globe. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to juggle multiple tasks while ensuring deadlines are met.


Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Licensing Applications: Manage and oversee the submission of regulatory licensing applications, ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are met for timely approval.

  • Maintain Regulatory Compliance: Ensure ongoing compliance with licensing conditions by monitoring changes in regulations and updating licenses as required.

  • Liaise with Regulators: Serve as the main point of contact between the organization and regulatory authorities, facilitating communication and responding to queries related to licensing matters.

  • Engage with key internal stakeholders: collaborate with internal teams (e.g. risk management, compliance, legal, finance, technology), to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements as part of licensing applications.

  • Document Management: Organize and maintain comprehensive records of all regulatory licenses, filings, and communications to ensure full traceability and accessibility during audits or inspections.
