  • Architect, create, and sustain robust data pipelines for various database systems, such as PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch, while upholding data integrity through rigorous cleaning and testing.
  • Construct models to extract, organize, and analyze data from unstructured formats, including images, PDFs, and raw text, enabling automated data extraction and processing.
  • Implement natural language processing (NLP) models to derive and assess textual data, encompassing tasks like entity recognition and topic modeling.
  • Generate insightful data visualizations and contribute to client-facing reports, articulating analysis findings and model efficacy to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Thoroughly document all data models, analyses, and procedures, maintaining high standards of quality and ensuring reproducibility for team members and stakeholders.
  • Oversee data science projects from their initial phases to completion, offering regular updates to clients and stakeholders while adeptly managing project resources.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and analysts, promoting best practices in machine learning, data analysis, and AI, and nurturing a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
  • Stay informed of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, incorporating new methodologies, tools, and techniques into existing workflows where applicable.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and a strong foundation in natural language processing (NLP), with experience in transformer architectures and large language models.
  • Expertise in Python programming, particularly in data manipulation and modeling libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Scikit-Learn).
  • Solid understanding of database management, especially in PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch, along with knowledge of large-scale data architecture and optimization.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based distributed computing platforms (e.g., Spark, Dask).
  • Strong project management abilities to articulate timelines, objectives, and trade-offs to stakeholders.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • A self-driven and inquisitive nature, with a knack for recognizing, assessing, and implementing cutting-edge machine learning solutions.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ph.D. in data science, computer science, machine learning, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in data science and machine learning, particularly in language-based applications.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
