Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, proofread, and revise a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence.
  • Oversee all facets of legal case management from discovery through trial preparation, including organizing case files, managing calendars, and tracking filing deadlines.
  • Conduct legal research and factual investigations to bolster case preparation efforts.
  • Review, analyze, and summarize legal documents, ensuring strict adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including phone management, correspondence handling, meeting scheduling, and filing system maintenance.
  • Interact with clients, court personnel, and fellow legal professionals in a manner that upholds the highest ethical standards.
  • Assist in assembling reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality with sensitive information at all times.

Required Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a civil litigation defense environment.
  • Proficiency in legal documentation, legal writing, and ethical practices within the legal sector.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research software.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to analyze situations critically and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
  • A proactive, self-motivated work ethic with the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
