Compensation Range: $40 - 43 per hour

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Learning and Development Content Designer to join our retail client's dynamic team!

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining training content that enhances product and fit knowledge for our client's retail teams, specifically aimed at District Managers and Stylists. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with experience in instructional design, a strong understanding of adult learning principles, and the ability to transform complex information into engaging and impactful learning solutions. Experience with tools such as Adobe InDesign, Articulate, and Rise is essential, and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), especially Axonify, is a major plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs analysis to assess current training programs focused on product knowledge and fit.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create course materials and learning modules.
  • Design in-house training programs, including course objectives, preliminary designs, and detailed final designs.
  • Manage outsourced training projects by coordinating with vendors, setting objectives, reviewing designs, and overseeing project timelines.
  • Develop key deliverables such as storyboards, prototypes, course materials, job aids, leaders’ guides, and class plans.
  • Lead testing phases including alpha, beta, user acceptance, and pilot phases of computer-based training programs.
  • Assist in developing and executing rollout strategies for new and updated training programs.
  • Design and deliver train-the-trainer (T3) courses as needed.
  • Create tools and resources to improve product knowledge within the retail team.
  • Develop and implement evaluation tools, surveys, and other feedback mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of learning solutions.
  • Track learning metrics and generate reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring ROI and impact are measurable.
  • Evaluate and update existing programs to ensure alignment with retail team needs.
  • Co-manage and update the Learning Management System (LMS) training portal.
  • Stay updated on instructional design and adult learning best practices and trends to continuously improve training materials.
  • Take on ad-hoc projects and assist in training activities as required.


Qualifications:

  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Education: Bachelors
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in learning and development, with a focus on instructional design and curriculum development.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe publishing software (InDesign), with proficiency in authoring tools such as Articulate, Rise, Captivate, and Canva.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with LMS implementation or maintenance (Axonify experience is a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to various levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and produce high-quality results in ambiguous situations.
  • Retail store experience, especially in the Apparel or Footwear industry, is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service orientation, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of accounting practices and the ability to manage budget information.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Passion, enthusiasm, and a positive outlook with a commitment to excellence.
  • Strong understanding of retail business operations, including training programs and in-store technologies.
  • Tools & Platforms:
    • Adobe InDesign and other Adobe Creative Suite tools (required).
    • Articulate, Rise, and Canva for content design (required).
    • Experience with Axonify LMS is a significant advantage.
