Remote Principal Engineer for Naval Surface Warfare Systems

Job Overview

We are thrilled to present an exceptional opportunity for experienced Principal Engineers to join our innovative team in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). This remote position offers the chance to collaborate with the Integrated Combat Systems Department and the Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department, along with other esteemed customers at NSWCDD and its associated organizations. As a Principal Engineer, you will be recognized as a key resource, frequently sought after for your expertise in the field.

Key Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will provide senior-level systems engineering, analysis, and program-level support to various clientele within NSWCDD, and potentially to NAVSEA, NAVAIR, ONR, and diverse Navy Program Executive Offices. Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Reviewing and advising on technical challenges related to combat systems integration, including participation in red teams and failure review boards.
• Engaging in strategic planning initiatives.
• Delivering Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to program managers in defining products and tasks, conducting product reviews, and tracking program activities.
• Offering engineering expertise in conceptual studies, Analyses of Alternatives (AoAs), and major analytical assessments.
  
  

Required Skills

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

• A minimum of 25-30 years of US Navy surface warfare experience, either as a senior enlisted member or officer, with service on various vessels such as carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, or land-based test sites.
• Specialized knowledge in programs including Aegis Combat and Weapon Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), and others.
• Advanced proficiency in written and verbal communication.
• At least two years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• The ability to interface effectively with flag/O-6 level personnel.
