Remote Math Tutor for Daytime Sessions | WFH

Job Overview

We are in search of a dedicated and innovative Math Tutor to provide exceptional educational support to students across Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. This position is a fantastic opportunity to join our boutique tutoring service, where we focus on personalized, one-on-one sessions aimed at enriching students’ academic experiences, whether conducted online or in person. Your role will play a crucial part in inspiring young minds and fostering a love for learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess each student’s unique learning level utilizing various methods and relevant client information.
• Engage students in preparation for tests, quizzes, and homework through tailored sessions.
• Foster motivation and focus among students during study periods.
• Develop or adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs effectively.
• Reinforce and clarify classroom concepts being taught in school.
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism while collaborating with families and colleagues.
• Exhibit flexibility by meeting clients in mutually agreed-upon locations and traveling within a reasonable distance when necessary.
• Implement online tools and techniques for virtual teaching as required.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficiency in teaching Mathematics concepts for grades 1-8.
• Proficiency in teaching Mathematics concepts for grades 9-12, including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
• Ability to conduct effective student assessments.
• Competence in lesson planning and adapting materials to fit diverse learning styles.
• Expertise in reinforcing classroom concepts and providing motivational support.
• High level of professionalism and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility in location and adaptability for virtual instruction.
  
  

Qualifications

• A valid NJ Standard Teaching Certification or NJ Special Education Certification is required.
• Experience in preparing lessons for both in-person and virtual sessions is advantageous.
• Prior tutoring experience is preferred but not mandatory.
