Field Representative for Underwriting Insurance Inspections - Remote | Falmouth, MA

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Field Representative to conduct evaluations of commercial business sites for various lines of insurance coverage, with a primary focus on loss prevention and risk assessment. This full-time remote position will enable you to play a crucial role in aiding insurers to make informed underwriting and pricing decisions through thorough onsite evaluations and comprehensive reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and execute on-site assessments to evaluate risk and generate necessary reports for our clientele.
• Identify various business operations, construction materials, fire protection systems, and safety measures, while providing valuable recommendations for safety enhancements and loss prevention strategies.
• Professionally represent our organization through effective communication, both in-person and through written correspondence.
• Uphold our commitment to data integrity by leveraging your meticulous attention to detail and communication skills to produce accurate, customer-centric reports.
  
  

Required Skills

• Exceptional customer service skills paired with strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of crafting concise and informative reports.
• Proficiency in technology usage, including laptops, mobile devices, the MS Office suite, and mobile applications, along with a working knowledge of functional mathematics (e.g., measuring square footage, perimeter, and percentages).
• Self-motivated with robust planning and goal-setting capabilities, ensuring effective work habits and minimal supervision during site visits.
• Ability to observe, document specific details, gather data, and travel to various sites, adapting to different environments and weather conditions.
• Professional designations such as CFPS, CSP, ARM, ALCM, NFPA, and/or CPCU are advantageous.
  
  

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience; preferred fields include Risk Management and Insurance, Construction Management, Property and Liability Insurance, or Safety. Experience in insurance loss control, underwriting, claims, commercial building construction, compliance inspections, or fire and industrial safety is an asset.
• A valid driver's license along with a satisfactory driving record as per company policies is necessary.
• Flexibility for overnight travel (in and out of state) based on business needs.
