The Role

The Lumen marketing operations team is looking for a lead QA resource for our Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) instance, that is the content management system for <a href="http://www.lumen.com" style="font-family:"Avenir Next LT Pro",sans-serif; color:#007981; text-decoration:underline">www.lumen.com and various other Lumen related websites.

A Quality Assurance (QA) resource is a pivotal member of a web development team, responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of web applications through rigorous testing and validation processes. Their primary goal is to identify and resolve defects before the software is released to end-users.

This role will also be responsible for understanding the www.lumen.com requirements and functionality, designing and maintaining comprehensive test cases that cover all aspects of the website experience and executing these tests to identify any defects or deviations from expected behavior following changes or updates to the site. This person will ensure that previously fixed issues remain resolved, and that new features or changes do not adversely affect the existing functionality. Additionally, this person will work closely with the development team to provide timely and accurate feedback, document and communicate test results effectively, and continuously update test cases to reflect the evolving website experience.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Test Planning and Strategy - Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies based on project requirements and specifications. Identify testing scope, objectives, resources, and timelines to ensure coverage of all functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Test Case Design and Execution - Design detailed and reusable test cases, scripts, and scenarios that validate the functionality, performance, and security of the web application. Execute manual and automated tests, including functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Defect Management - Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools. Work closely with developers to reproduce, analyze, and resolve defects in a timely manner.
  • Continuous Improvement - Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools. Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Collaboration and Communication - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business analysts, to ensure alignment on project goals and requirements. Provide clear and concise feedback, reports, and documentation to stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Performance and Security Testing - Conduct performance testing to ensure the web application meets performance criteria under various conditions. Perform security testing to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Documentation - Create and maintain comprehensive QA documentation, including test plans, test cases, test results, and defect logs. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible to relevant team members.

What We Look For In a Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance, preferably in web application testing.
  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages, such as JavaScript, Python, or Java.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices and working in iterative, collaborative environments.
