EVS, Inc. is looking for a Associate Director of Power Studies to oversee the engineering and design of innovative power systems projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Power Studies department, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality, safety-compliant projects.
  • Guide the team in implementing best practices, driving operational efficiency, and meeting project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with teams from Civil, Substation, Structural, Geotechnical Engineering, and the Project Management Office (PMO) to deliver integrated project designs.
  • Ensure alignment with project timelines, budgets, and client expectations through effective communication and coordination.
  • Lead the development and implementation of departmental standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and ensure consistency in engineering practices.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and drive continuous improvement in engineering deliverables.
  • Partner with the Director of Power Studies to optimize resource allocation and manage department workload.
  • Adjust team assignments based on project progress to meet deadlines and maintain profitability.
  • Support team development by implementing staff training programs focused on technical and leadership skills.
  • Assist the Director in managing the department’s financial performance, including budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiency.
  • Lead the recruitment process to build a strong Power Studies team, working closely with the Director to hire top talent.
  • Foster a positive team environment by developing retention strategies, providing mentorship, and offering growth opportunities for team members.
  • Support the Director in managing client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns proactively, maintaining strong, long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure team proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, PSCAD, CDEGS, WinIGS, CYMCAP, and other tools for electrical infrastructure design.
  • Stay updated on the latest software advancements and implement tools that enhance project execution and design accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, focusing on Power Studies or related field with 3-5 years of proven leadership experience within consulting engineering or power infrastructure sectors.
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication abilities, financial management, deep understanding of industry standards and quality assurance practices.
