24LG063 – Workshop Controller – Northumberland Park

Go-Ahead London is the capital’s largest bus operator and we employ the overwhelming number of our 8,000 people at 17 garages, mostly in South East, South West, North East and East London. A vacancy has arisen for a Workshop Controller. Candidates will need to have a good awareness of the latest vehicle technologies, a forward-thinking approach to the business and the ability to lead the change to electronic maintenance systems.

The main duties of the post are

• Allocation and prioritising of work
• Ensuring all maintenance is carried out correctly, on time and within budget
• Maximising the utilisation and availability of vehicles and colleagues
• Stores supervision, health and safety management and liaison with contractors
• Effective utilisation of computer-based management systems
  
  
  

We are looking for an individual who has the following qualities

• Excellent management skills
• At least two years supervisory experience in an engineering environment
• NVQ level 3 qualification or time served apprenticeship
• Current valid PCV licence
• A thorough knowledge of Go-Ahead London Engineering Procedures
• Membership of an appropriate institute is desirable
• Good IT literacy
