Solution Manager - Utility Projects DACH & Europe

Location: Germany

Join GoodWe’s newly formed Project Competency Team - Utility Projects Tech Team, where you will play a key role in shaping our utility-scale project solutions and ensuring technical excellence across the region. As a Solution Manager for Utility Projects, your primary focus will be on building and strengthening relationships with our customers in the DACH region and other European countries. You will lead efforts to get GoodWe's solutions technically qualified by customers, conduct training sessions and workshops, and advise on the best-fit solutions. You will also support project RFQs and represent GoodWe at exhibitions and industry events.

Your mission


As a Solution Manager Utility Projects, your focus will be on our customers in DACH and some other European countries. You will get GoodWe technically qualified by these customers, hold training sessions and workshops, advise customers about the right GoodWe solution, support project RFQs, and represent GoodWe in exhibitions and local events.


A typical day for a Solution Manager Utility Projects at GoodWe Europe includes direct interactions with our key EPC, IPP and system partners, and interfacing with our sales, R&D and product management teams.


Your main responsibilities


  • Supporting and Managing GoodWe’s pre-sales activities in Utility scale projects.
  • Growing customer trust in GoodWe’s solution.
  • Technically supporting RFQs and contract negotiations.
  • Ensuring GoodWe’s closeness to customers.
  • Building up the full knowledge of market requirements for PV and storage systems including product specifications, system design requirements, certification requirements, etc.
  • Transferring market requirements to product management and R&D to make sure GoodWe remains ahead of competition.
  • Working closely together with the Sales team in acquiring and closing new utility projects.


Your Profile


  • Technical Expertise: A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 to 7 years of experience in technical pre-sales support, field service, and direct customer interaction in utility-scale projects within the solar industry.
  • Proven track of engineering, design, and sizing of solar electrical installations.
  • Expert in inverter, MV transformer station specifications.
  • Experience with high-voltage (HV) power stations is a plus.
  • Deep understanding in specifications of SCADA, Loggers, PPC, and overall communication and monitoring technology in solar utility projects.
  • Deep understanding and knowledge in Grid compliance topics, to support customers, on the selection of equipment.
  • EPC & O&M Knowledge: Proven experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and/or Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of utility-scale projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience in the solar, PV, inverter, energy storage, or utility industries is essential.
  • Language Skills: Native German and professional fluency in English is A MUST! Additional language skills, especially Chinese, are a strong plus.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: A passion for renewable energy and a customer-focused mindset, with the ability to deliver outstanding service.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Strong ability to present technical solutions to customers and partners in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% of the time to meet customers and attend events.
