Position Summary

The Web Development Associate supports the client service team, executing tickets, tasks, and projects in partnership with the Lead Web Developer. This support entails execution and administrative functions for each account, allowing the Lead Developer to focus on the client relationship, scaling processes and innovation.

The Associate’s main KPI is 30 tracked billable hours weekly. This KPI will be measured in the company time-tracking system, and will be viewed in aggregate over a rolling period of weeks.

Performance Objectives

  • Execute Web Development tasks within weekly sprint planning framework
  • Execute Rocket Clicks playbook for the particular client industry
  • Ensure account execution follows company First Principles methodology
  • Assist in creating and optimizing web pages in WordPress and other CMS platforms
  • Understands core languages (HTML/CSS/JS) and concepts (i.e. how to mark up text, how to set an anchor tag to nofollow and why, basic styling with CSS, showing/hiding elements in JS, what each is used for)
  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic SEO concepts (how to determine if something needs a 301, why keyword stuffing is bad, etc)
  • Install and configure Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, recaptcha, and other common integrations
  • Familiarity with most common WP plugins (gravity forms, elementor/visual builders), breeze/wprocket/caching plugins, easy wp smtp

  • Understanding of how businesses acquire customers digitally
  • Experience working in content management systems such as WordPress, HubSpot
  • Using SEO software such as Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, Screaming Frog, SEMRush, Ahrefs
  • Reporting against defined performance metrics

Education & Experience

  • 2+ years of web design and development experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • 2+ years of experience with common content management systems like WordPress
  • Proficient with Excel and/or Sheets (pivot tables, vlookups, etc.)
  • Prior experience working with North American businesses virtually
