Job description

Role Summary

Our client is looking for a Collection Specialist who is responsible for monitoring accounts receivable and ensuring timely collection.

WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time (11:00 PM – 8:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine/Colombian Holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote - Philippines or Colombia

Essential Functions

  • Monitor the firm’s accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts on a weekly basis
  • Contact customers by phone or email with overdue accounts and attempt to collect the overdue amount
  • Maintain records of contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account customers as well as records of any payments collected from the customer
  • Forward customer issues and complaints concerning billing to the operations department
  • Submit weekly reports on the status of the unpaid account

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in the related field is preferred
  • Proven experience as a Collection Specialist or similar role
  • Knowledge of billing procedures and collection techniques
  • Familiarity with laws related to debt collection
  • Skilled in negotiation
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and QuickBooks Online
  • Experience balancing and delivering multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
  • Comfortable working with targets
  • Patience and ability to manage stress
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to provide solutions with limited direction
  • Strong attention to detail and superior time management skills
  • Good listening and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in a multi-client environment
  • Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
  • Ability to function in an autonomous environment—independent worker, self-directed
