How You’ll Contribute

As an Actuarial Assistant, you’ll be responsible for implementing and monitoring Pathwise model changes pertaining to the Shield Annuity products, using best in class modeling standards. This is an Actuarial Development Program position. This position supports an essential function which will provide assurance to model users of the validity and transparency of model results for use in financial statements, and for analysis and risk management purposes.

In This Role, You’ll Get To

  • Implement Pathwise annuity modeling solutions by utilizing product knowledge, studying existing models, and analyzing business requirements.
  • Analyse model results, including reconciling and attributing changes, communicating results to management, and creating detailed documentation
  • Implement and test new software releases, new products, new regulatory requirements, and shared table changes in the Pathwise environment
  • Optimize models to follow coding standards and improve performance
  • Stage model inputs using data conversion systems and/or Alteryx

We’re Looking For People Who Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related discipline
  • At least 1 actuarial exam for the Society of Actuaries
  • Strong programming skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Sound business judgment skills (decision-making and problem solving)

What You’ll Receive

  • Compensation – Candidates for this role can be hired at the Actuarial Assistant or Actuarial Associate level. Level and salary to be commensurate with exam progress.
    • Assistant Level (1-3 Exams): Base salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
    • Associate Level (4+ Exams): Base salary ranging from $80,000 to $93,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
