Senior Backend Software Engineer – Java | Spring Boot (m/f/d)

Location: remote, Germany; remote, Spain; remote, Greece

Your responsibilities

Develop and manage the backend of our brand-new buying solution based on a state-of-the-art tech stack including Spring Boot.
Cooperate closely with product teams, ensuring short release cycles while keeping full ownership of the products you contribute to.
Collaborate with other tech and supply teams within BestSecret, especially with the buying team.
Empower your team to strive for excellence and grow together with each challenge.
Contribute to software design & architecture decisions to ensure that the solution is resilient, scalable, and fulfills our buyers' requirements.

Your qualification

At least 5 Years of practical experience with Java/Spring Boot and good knowledge about event-driven architectures using Kafka and distributed systems.
Experience with end-to-end development processes, including unit, integration & functional testing, deployment pipelines (Jenkins | GitLab), application tuning/profiling, and monitoring (ELK | Prometheus | Grafana).
Familiarity with cloud infrastructures and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
In-depth knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
Experience in frontend development - preferably Vue.js - is a plus.
Knowledge in machine learning, analytics, data science, and data lakes (Starburst) is a plus.
Demonstrated sense of ownership, independence, and a commitment to maintaining high quality, from clean code to application design and reliable software.
Fluent in English, the primary working language across all teams.
