Position Description
We're seeking a talented and experienced AI/ML Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing AI and machine learning models, with a focus on leveraging open-source large language models (LLMs) and computer vision technologies. This role requires expertise in Python programming and a deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and best practices, including natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision.
This position can be worked remotely within in the USA
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Develop and fine-tune AI/ML models based on open source LLMs and computer vision algorithms
- Design and implement MLOps processes to streamline model development, deployment, and monitoring for both NLP and computer vision projects
- Create human-in-the-loop systems for model training and evaluation across text and image data
- Optimize AI/ML pipelines for performance and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing products and workflows
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML technologies and methodologies, particularly in NLP and computer vision
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- Due to the nature of this work, this position requires US Citizenship and MUST be able to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML development, with a focus on NLP, LLMs, and computer vision
- Strong programming skills, particularly in Python
- Extensive experience with popular ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face)
- Proficiency in developing and deploying ML models in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices (e.g., MLflow, Kubeflow, DVC)
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
- Experience with open source LLMs (e.g., BERT, GPT, T5) and computer vision models (e.g., YOLO, ResNet, U-Net)
- Knowledge of image processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV, Pillow)
- Experience with deep learning architectures for computer vision (CNNs, R-CNNs, GANs)
- Familiarity with computer vision tasks such as object detection, image segmentation, and facial recognition
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark)
- Experience with data annotation tools and processes for both text and image data
- Understanding of ethical AI principles and practices, including bias mitigation in visual and language models
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and license and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $76,300.00 - $190,000.00.
