Job Description

THE KORN FERRY INSTITUTE

The Korn Ferry Institute (KFI) – Established In 2008 – Is a Global, Corporate Function Of Korn Ferry That Supports The Organization Across All Lines Of Business Including Advisory, Digital And Search Through

  • Scientific research and the creation of thought leadership that highlights key trends related to topics such as the future of work and that identify the drivers of human and organizational performance.
  • Creating and managing the Intellectual Property for the firm, including – for example - our Success Profile library, Competency Model content, assessment and measurement tools, and work measurement systems and processes.
  • Leveraging our vast data asset to design and conduct state-of-the-art analytics that deliver impactful insights to clients and demonstrate the power and value of Korn Ferry tools and solutions.

Within the KFI, the Client Analytics team is focused on delivering highly impactful data-driven insights to clients. The team is also responsible for establishing best practices and tools for running analytics, and then enabling resources across the organization to leverage these at scale. The client analytics team works collaboratively with colleagues across the business in the areas of individual, team, and organizational performance.

OUR DATA

Korn Ferry owns an unrivalled suite of tools to collect, measure, and assess individual, team, and organizational performance. Our data encompasses everything from individual assessment tools (psychometric assessments, cognitive ability tests, and multi-rater tools to assess competency and leadership capability) to team and organization-level assessments (to measure topics such as team performance, culture, and engagement) as well as both the world’s most highly regarded database on employee pay and benefits and the world’s largest library of data-driven success profiles.

OPPORTUNITY TO ENHANCE YOUR CAREER - It’s about exceeding your potential.

Role

The Director, Client Analytics, plays a critical role in guiding the analytics approaches used in our organization. This role has three key focus areas:

  • SHAPING advanced, high impact intellectual property-centric client analytics - Running client analytics projects helps us to stay close to our clients and shape how we can leverage our intellectual property and data (e.g. personality, multi-rater, and cognitive ability assessments and employee engagement surveys, etc.) to drive improved insights. The jobholder will need to be strategic and selective about which projects will add the most long-term value to Korn Ferry, leverage our intellectual property assets as much as possible, resource those projects effectively (both from within and outside the KFI) and design solutions that respect the underlying science and that showcase a 'best-practice' approach to our broader analytics colleagues across the firm.
  • INFLUENCING highly scalable, consistent, best-in-class and more impactful analytics across the wider firm. This objective requires the jobholder to work in a highly networked way where influencing (with KFI experts, KF advisory colleagues, data scientists, and executives) will be a key skill - both in understanding what other teams do but in shaping how we can jointly use best-in-class and consistent analytic approaches.
  • ENABLING others and having a strong focus on knowledge management to disseminate and share analytics best-practice across the firm (especially around the use of our assessment and intellectual property survey data in analytics). This is increasingly important given the complexity (breadth and depth) of our intellectual property and our data. Helping other teams understand best practice and guiding their approaches is a consistent need.

Delivering on these objectives entails managing a small team of data scientists with a client analytics focus as well as networking closely with other KFI team members and analytics delivery teams across KF to ensure successful project resourcing and delivery of numerous projects, as well as ensuring that the processes we follow are fit-for-purpose.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of and passion for people analytics, be a highly organized self-starter, have a passion for knowledge management, have great capabilities in networking and influencing and will need to quickly develop a strong and detailed understanding of our intellectual property.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: provide direction, coaching, development, and support to highly capable expert professionals focused on data science projects.
  • Analytics Project Resourcing and Operations Management: Oversee the portfolio of 200+ analytics projects delivered each year, working with operations support and other analytics delivery teams from initial requests to resourcing to quality management and delivery.
  • Analytics Strategy and Solution Development: contributes to the analytics strategy for the firm, helping to identify client projects where the KFI’s expertise can contribute, that enables us to stay close to client needs, and design/deliver analytics solutions that maximize the value of our intellectual property and have high-impact results that we can then look to scale further
  • Analytics/Intellectual Property Advisor: Answer questions from the business about analytics best practices, often by synthesizing complex information from different SMEs and/or client teams into a consumable answer, if an answer is not readily available, but to then continually improve our knowledge management/enablement materials so that SMEs can self-serve answers to these questions.
  • Knowledge Management: co-own the documentation of Analytics Best Practices, partnering with assessment experts to curate and add content as new questions from the business as they emerge.
  • Analytics Enablement: in partnership with enablement colleagues, input into the process to develop and support with the delivery of training materials and other communications to a range of stakeholders across the organization, including analytics consultants, sales professionals, and other subject matter experts to help support a broader understanding of the Korn Ferry approach to analytics.
  • Advise on Analytics Pricing & Solution Architecting: Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to recommend analytics offerings, outline phases of work, and propose work effort estimates needed to deliver proposed analytics projects.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Respond to client/colleague questions to ensure understanding of Korn Ferry intellectual property as it relates to analytics.
  • Data Governance: provide guidance and coaching to the key contact responsible for questions regarding analytics-related data access, sharing, and privacy.
  • Stay up-to-date and participate in relevant thought leadership innovation and strategies, new trends and directions, disruptive technologies, and science related to our core assessment intellectual property and analytical approaches.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working with data associated with both talent acquisition and talent management assessments (e.g. personality, multi-rater, cognitive ability, etc.).
  • 2-3 years of experience in data mining and manipulation, analyzing data, and producing reports.
  • 3+ years of management/operations experience in people analytics.
  • 3+ years of experience as an internal or external consultant.
  • Customer service and quality orientation.
  • Excellent communication, with the ability to translate complex information into consumable content for a range of different audiences.
  • Credibility and assertiveness with external clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to balance big picture thinking with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • High level of resilience with the ability to handle changing requests and requirements on very short notice.
  • Ability to communicate complex data and technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and passion for using data to solve real world problems.
  • Has a passion for and is a strong believer in the power of data and analytics.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (e.g. formulas, pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
  • PowerBI experience with at least basic data visualization skills, preferred.
  • Basic R skills, preferred.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Social Science, Business, Math/Statistics, or Data Science/Analytics including graduate level statistics, psychometrics, and/or measurement (PhD preferred; experienced candidates with a master’s will be considered).
