Envato Tuts+ Design Video Creator

Role Purpose

Join our team as a Design Video Creator—inspire and educate Designers! Are you passionate about design? Do you want to create videos that spark creativity and drive innovation in the design community? We’re seeking a dynamic and talented video creator to join our team and make their mark! As a Video Creator, you will create in-house videos tailored for our designer audience. You will work closely with the Tuts+ editorial team to research, plan, and script new videos, ensuring they are both educational and engaging. Your role will involve video production, from filming and presenting on camera to editing and adding simple motion graphics. Your excellent knowledge of graphic design and digital design tools will be essential in creating high-quality content that resonates with our large audience of designers.

Responsibilities and Objectives

● Work closely with our Video Manager and editorial team to plan and create videos that fit our YouTube strategy, including short video tutorials, inspirational videos, and educational video courses.

We’re looking for someone who will:

○ Bring their obsessive knowledge of design and the creative industry to the team, from the latest tool updates to big-name rebrands

○ Develop a deep understanding of our audience of designers

○ Research, plan, and script new videos with our audience in mind

○ Be an energetic and enthusiastic on-camera presenter

○ Edit videos with confidence and skill

● Create in-depth design courses—beginner to advanced courses in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, etc..

We’re looking for someone who will:

○ Bring enthusiasm to teaching beginners the fundamentals of graphic design

○ Tackle complex design topics in a compelling way that connects with people just getting started as designers

● Work closely with our social media team to create short-form videos for designers:

○ Translate trends and make them digestible and actionable for working designers

○ Teach design theory in a dynamic and engaging way

○ Be immersed in the design community and responsive to the flow and trends of key social media platforms

Key Skills and Experience

● Energy, personality, and enthusiasm on camera!

● Excellent communication skills. The ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively on camera.

● A deep understanding of design, preferably a formal design education and varied portfolio.

● Excellent knowledge of digital design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, etc.).

● Good video production skills, including producing high-quality on-camera videos, audio recordings, and screencasts (examples required).

● Experience being on camera and creating videos for YouTube.

● Excellent writing and editing skills (examples required).

● Strong attention to detail.

● Ability to work to varied deadlines and respond to business needs flexibly.

● Excellent organisation and time management ability.

● High level of initiative, independence and self-management.

The compensation package offered may vary depending on employment experience, skills, and knowledge. You may also be eligible for our generous benefits package including health, wellness and financial benefits. Compensation ranges for candidates will differ based on the cost of labor, geographic market, and additional factors.

The pay range for this position is below: • 80,000 - 106,000 USD per year in New York.
