Appraisal Section Manager

Temporary position for 12 months

Your role involves using your ability to make quality decisions and optimize work processes to manage a portion of a subset of sales and operations activities. You are responsible for overseeing your group’s service offer and for developing and implementing its business plan. With an ability to develop talent and drive results, you can effectively manage people and performance, produce reports and ensure member/client satisfaction. More specifically, you will be required to:

• Provide support to Appraisers and the immediate supervisor by helping with work organization, strategic and operational planning

• Lead, manage, train and develop teams, while fostering engagement and helping meet corporate objectives

• Provide feedback and stay abreast of best practices and suggest new methods

• Develop, implement and track the unit’s action plan, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic orientations and other administrative units, in a performance management context

• Establish management and communication practices that support change management, talent attraction and retention, skills development, employee engagement, and diversity in keeping with Desjardins values

• Support the administrative unit’s action plan by successfully managing individual and team performance

• Continuously improve the management of processes of the department

What you bring to the table

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• A minimum of seven years of experience with two years management experience

• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

• proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

• Intermediate knowledge in automobile appraisal/estimating

• Expert knowledge in programs such as Audatex and Mitchell 

• Intermediate knowledge of the Appraisal and Operations sector

• Available for travel in greater Toronto area

• Must have a valid driver's licence and a company car will be provided
