  • Hourly Range: $21.34 - $32.01 (Determined by function, education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant. A 15% salary uplift is provided on top of base salary for positions that are worked in New York City or San Francisco, which is subject to change depending on market conditions.)

Job Summary

The various Environmental Engineering tasks demand detail-oriented individuals with multi-faceted skills, particularly in-depth technical expertise, flexibility, enthusiasm for individual and team tasks, and analytical problem-solving capabilities.

As an Environmental Engineer Intern, you will work in multi-disciplinary teams and provide assistance in water and wastewater systems, air emissions, environmental impact assessments, and environmental regulatory requirements.

Major Responsibilities

This position will allow you to perform assignments that will develop professional working knowledge and abilities through the application of applicable codes and standards, as well as engineering calculations and techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will exercise limited, but increasing, judgment in performing your assigned duties using methods prescribed by your supervisor.

Typical Activities Of The Environmental Engineering Team

  • Writing specifications
  • Developing processing schemes
  • Performing equipment sizing calculations
  • Performing analysis and conceptual study-level reports
  • Estimating air emissions
  • Performing air dispersion modeling
  • Assisting with Environmental Impact Assessments and client permitting applications

Basic Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program in Chemical or Environmental Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project job sites
  • Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the U.S. with visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Science degree program in Chemical or Environmental Engineering at an accredited college or university
  • Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
