Job Summary – Associate Underwriter

We are currently seeking an Associate Underwriter to join the underwriting team. This is a temp seasonal position.

As an underwriter, your day-to-day responsibilities will include determining the risk of Life and Health insurance applications utilizing the application, phone interview, pharmacy reports, and MIB-provided information.

  • Assesses life and health applications and associated medical evidence for risk and assigns the

appropriate underwriting classification.

  • Reviews application, MIB and prescription information to determine risk and conducts phone

interview as needed which average 15-20 minutes.

  • Completes telephone interviews as requested by the Underwriter, Senior Underwriter or

Underwriting Manager.

  • Communicates with agents and customers regarding underwriting decisions and issues verbally

and in writing.

  • Assists other departments with clerical duties as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
