Job Purpose:
 

This position is responsible for ensuring accuracy, clarity and consistency of all written content produced by the Creative Services team.  The role involves reviewing and editing a wide range of material, including but not limited to direct mail, digital content, social media posts and internal communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Error detection: identify and correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors in written content.
  • Consistency checks: ensure consistency in style, tone, formatting, and voice across all materials, adhering to brand and audience guidelines.
  • Compliance: ensure all content complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Fact checking: verify the accuracy of facts, figures, statements, dates, and data.
  • Copy editing: Edit content for clarity, coherence, and readability, suggesting improvements where necessary and working with copywriter when edits become rewrites.
  • Style guide: assist in maintaining and updating copy style guide and proofreading checklists.
  • Error logs: document recurring errors and provide recommendations for improvement to enhance overall content quality.
  • Quality assurance: conduct final review of content before publication or distribution to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Completes and leverages departmental best practices training.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years of experience proofreading, copy editing or related role.
  • Excellent command of the English language with strong proofing and editing skills.
  • Attention to detail even for the smallest errors.
  • Understanding of the financial industry.
  • Analytical skills to ensure coherence in content.
  • Familiarity with AP style guide and the ability to learn and adapt to specific brand and audience guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple project simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Base Salary Range:

$47,533.00 - $83,183.00
